Darin Zanyar (b. 1987) was born in Stockholm to Kurdish-Iranian parents. Broke through via Swedish Idol 2004 (2nd place) and became one of Sweden's best-selling pop artists. Hits include 'Money for Nothing', 'Step Up', 'Insanity' and 'Astrologen'. Has collaborated with Max Martin. Albums: The Anthem (2005), Break the News (2006), Flashback (2007).
