Formed in Stockholm in 1983 from the remains of Ebba Grön. With Joakim Thåström on vocals, Imperiet evolved punk into Swedish rock with albums like Rasera (1985) and 2:a Augusti 1985 (1985). Hits include 'Du ska veta', 'Fred' and 'Märk hur vår skugga'. The band dissolved in 1988.
