Born Sophie Edkvist in 1972, raised in Skogås south of Stockholm. Debuted in 1995 with 'Always You' and won the Swedish Grammis as Best Newcomer in 1996. Her intimate folk-pop has been featured in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, Independence Day and My Best Friend's Wedding. She has released 12 studio albums and maintains a long-running collaboration with guitarist Lars Halapi.
